Go to the Museum of Modern Art - It is fookin awesome. Choose your floors wisely - they are massive.
Have a business lunch (cheaper) in the new Frank Gehry building by the river.
Go to the Czech National Opera.
There's loads to do. I walked everywhere except for the Museum above.

Hire a pedalo on the river. Its like being on the Thames. Still can't believe they let people do it

Take the Metro, the station designs are great and it costs about 1p to go anywhere (slight exaggeration but it is very cheap).
Lots of antique shops full of old communist posters and stuff like that.
Don't go to a wedding in a Salvation Army hostel, I had to and I can confirm it was very shit indeed.

Beer
Czech pivo (beer) is among the best in the world, with a pedigree that goes back to the 13th century. The world's first lager was brewed in Plzen (Pilsen) in West Bohemia. The Czech Republic has for some years been the world's No 1 beer-drinking nation, with an annual per capita consumption of some 158L. Beer is served almost everywhere; even cafeterias and breakfast bufety have a tap. Most pubs close at 10pm or 11pm, but some bars and nightclubs are open until 6am.

You could take a trip out to the town of Kutna Hora and visit the church decorated entirely with human bones which were arranged into pyramids by a half-blind monk, as early as 1511. The skeletons of about 40,000 people lie in the small chapel of the All Saints Church. I shit you not.

low - yeh, i was thinking of it.. slightly macabre.. but worth a look.
as for absinthe.. never again lads.
- lowimpakt0
I have set myself on fire with absinthe tooooo many times.
yea the church is macabre but the suggestion also extends to other areas. If you find the city packed w/tourists there are some lovely little towns etc.
If its your first time you'll have fun for sure

I tried to go to the bone church when I was in Prague, but there was a German crew filming there and they wouldn't let us in! So I went next door and bought a postcard instead.
There was an awesome restaurant that I ate at.....Radox FX. I don't know if it is still there though (Belehradska 120)
Didn't check out the museums-- but there are defintitely a lot of street artisans with good work.

their is a Mucha museum there that is pretty sweet, if you like that style at all. packaging poster, painting and stuff.
the absinth killed me as well, in the old town square i got stranded by a friend, puke in a trash can, was harrassed by drug dealers and gypsies and then rescude by some lovely irish pals. i loved that town.
