Not really my sort of thing, but I can tell there's lot of work gone into it and its been well executed.

It looks good but...
- it's slow.
- the detailing is top notch but it's getting in the way of good 'ole fashioned functionality. The scroll bars for the main text area are almost hidden away. The text (for some users) might be too small. Buttons are unclickable whilst it loads...frustrating.
- I'm not convinced this is a site for the target audience this site is communicating to.

Very nice. Looks like more effort went into those vine thingies around the rollovers than goes into most sites!

if you can boost speed at the cost of a little detail and pre-loading, do it; this site is way to beautiful to be ignored out of impatience.

looks great, but loads and runs like molasses for me.. "not mac friendly" wouldnt fly at my work.. "fix it and make it work everywhere" would be the response

Agree with Bluejam about the scrollbars. They're tiny. The text is fine to me, though. And it loaded just fine on my PC (IE6, XP, cable), meaning the preload bar looked like a preload bar.

247 - love your work, but one thing that gets me on many of your sites is the audio - i always have music on, so the site's audio is often intrusive. Audio is tricky, i would definitely give the user more control, make the audio controls much more prominent.

maybe make the elephants have more contrast with the background in the load menu at the start... its tough to see.
