le samourai is one of my favorite films.. bob le flambeur, etc.

Well there's the Krzysztof Kieslowski's famous Three Colours trilogy (3 colours Red, 3 colours White, 3 colours Blue), and also his films A Story About Love and A Story Abour Killing
U seen Diva? Same guy who did Betty Blue. I like that film. And ofcourse Luc Besson Films (Subway and Le Femme Nikita are really cool). Also there is Taxi (not Taxi 2) which is a cool french film...

Yup. Try Jean-Pierre Melville (Le Samouraï starring Alain Delon, for example) as well, he was a major influence for Tarantino. Bertrand Tavernier and Claude Chabrol should be in the list too. And Jean Renoir!
