I have a 20gb iPod... using iTunes on a Dell laptop. My girlfriend just purchased a mini iPod and can't install iTunes on her old iMac with OS 9.2.
The question:
Can we use her mini iPod (as well as my existing iPod) on my version of iTunes or will there be a problem using both?thanks!

you can use both ipods on a single library, but if she ever upgrades her computer and can use itunes she'll have to erase your library from her ipod and start over with the new computer.

Hey Dude,
I have an ipod 20 gig and i use it on a dell pc at work and an apple titanium laptop at home. no conflicts at all. You just have to make sure you manually sync tunes on one of the machines.
sorry aeo *coughbullcrapcough*

I have a 20 gig iPod also, and the missue has a miniPod, basically we have a about 30 gigs of music and she has a couple of playlists and so do I and it works neat!

I (stupidly) don't have all my MP3's on one machine so ALL my music is on the iPod (Risky I know but I can't really afford to have 40GB of memory used up by music)
So I don't sync my iPod with iTunes. I just manually update my music. I still use iTunes cos it is the don but I don't sync the two... I suppose you could do that.
Just incase you do go down this route you might need this:

It's a wee app that allows you to copy back from the iPod to your machine by artist and album. Saves trawling through the iPod.

ruf... why dont you get a Firewire hard drive for backing up your music... they are getting cheaper... sure beats the time you would have to spend setting up again if you lost the iPod...

I bought a lacie 40gb drive designed by porche... it was only 80 quid and is simplicitiy itself.. and runs on usb2... it is not much bigger than an ipod but half the weight!
I wouldn't trust just keeping my music on the iPod alone... plus I can stick it on any machine I use whether at the studio/my laptop or at home.
