Daniel Brown: you think he deserved it?
- patnoodle0
Personally I think the prize should have gone to Craig Johnston for "the Pig."
I don't really think Daniel's work has much of a practical use or mass appeal. As for the other two, why were they even in there?

thats lame

on a personal level, i believe daniel broke his neck some time last year and it's likely that he'll never work again.
- ad10
sorry: that should read never "walk" again
- patnoodle0
Yeah he broke it in Barcelona but I can't help thiking it was a sympathy vote.
Suppose nobody was going to top Jonathan Ive's contributions last year.

I wouldn't mind a small cessna hiting the oval office.
- fate0
watch out unfit, "They" will come looking for you.
- rasko40
cessna's hitting the oval office are all the rage today it seems, sounds ok to me.
I went to the show and I dont agree, Sam Buxton should have won, I really wanted to steal some of those laser cut thingymajigs.. too cool.

though I s'pose Daniels is a bit more progressive perhaps, and did have good shroom value tripiness maaann!!

i was there in may.. personally i think the folks weren't that special except i really did find the dude w/ the styrofoam cup lamp was most creative.. :P

I was also there a couple of weeks ago, and i really enjoyed Daniel Brown's work, but, im not sure it was impressive enough to warrent being titled Designer of the Year.
Then again i cant say that i believe that any of the other nominations deserved to win, so fair play to the guy.
