how did we let this stuff get shipped out of Iraq while we were occupying the place? Even before, we were monitoring everything leaving the country and nobody from the US govt. had thought to check it out?

-----------------------------It's not new at all. It is part of the process of tracing that is incredibly difficult - the UN teams have been at this for a long time. Their job was made more difficult because some dickhead went and blew the shit out of most of the 'important' parts of the country. ;)

do you know how big iraq is? do you know how many miles of borders their are in that country. you say we should have caught the stuff leaving the country as if it is so easy. it is near impossible to catch everything coming in and out of the country.

I'm rather unmoved.
They discovered banned missiles. Banned missiles are not WMDs. They also found materials that can be made into WMDs, but such evidence is circumstantial and we had plenty of circumstantial evidence before the war.
They still haven't found WMDs, and thats why no one pretends its news.
