hey..
working with some greenscreen, im using shake and keylight, and i cant seem to get it to look good... the edges are still really pixelated, and im wondering if this is a compression issue... i have miniDV source material which i imported as uncompressed 8-bit, but the original footage looks compressed.
the footage was shot on 35 mm then transfered to Betacam and echoed to miniDV...
thanks for any help...

miniDV sucks for greenscreen work. you get all this compression artifacts around your key edges. if possible grab your footage from the beta source.
more infos:
http://www.philipwilliams.com/gr…there is a key plug in for after effects that helps in keying miniDV footage and gets nice results. its called DVmatte pro:

after effects with built in keylight and some tweaking is perfect for fucked up DV footage...
shake couldnt handle it! lol unless i had a betasp machine here... then shake would be cool
