I'm going to Paris for 5 days and am trying to figure what to do.
Besides the standard tourist stuff, what is your "short list" of 5-6 specific places to go? This could include art, shopping, or food...
Any guidance would be appreciated!

Mmm, yeah... I'll be there with my wife.
Although just because I've already ordered dinner doesn't mean I can't look at what other people are having!

just kidding, but I would travel to Lyon and Nice, etc. The south of France is very, very, very special. ;)

Eat at Balthazar, it's near the Latin Quarter, can't remember the exact address, just ask any hotel person in the area. Incredible French food, priced well. Comes recommended from one of France's top architects (a friend).

in Paris, I've always had a lot of fun in Marais: http://www.lonelyplanet.com/maps… lots of nice restaurants, better learn a little French though.
