they were a performer at an all day show south of chicago. i caught their show and it was beyond terrible.
i dont know what their #1 song is but the crowd sang 60% of it cause he couldn't hit the high notes. he let the crowd do it everytime instead.
it was pathetic.
- warheros0
i dont mind the music, but that ad is teeerrible.

when chirstian bands go emo..... sigh.....
- Gilt0010
What I don't get is how bands that sing emotional songs got their own genre. THat's 90% of every song out there with lyrics!
Ha, and i'd give anything roll up on some punkass in that pansy Civic. I'd hand his ass to him!
- sauerbraten0
'chirstian bands' ?
i think you're mistaken. and they're not emo anyway..
- sauerbraten0
there was another thread talking about the history of 'emo' and how none of the bands around today are even remotely connected to the real genre.

I don't think carabba is 100% Xtian - but Further Seems Forever - his band before Dashboard - certainly were....
Terrible band - terrible marketing
- ********0
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...
:)
that is so freaking funny.

Jevad is correct.
FSF is what I like to call "popularly Christian"
Just like Acceptance and MxPx.
The members are mostly Christians and ally themselves with Christian labels, distributors, etc.
But once it's not popular to be Christian - they're like "oh, we're not REALLY a Christian band . . . some of us are Christians, though"
Most of these bands start out writing overtly Christian music but then become more 'mainstream weak-handed moralist' by way of their own values or (hopefully not) because of commercial pressures to distill their Christianity into something that sounds like moralistic new age crap that everyone can agree with.
I met Chris once through some friends and at that time he was a really, really nice guy.
Hopefully that hasn't changed.Even though he's kinda become a corporate whore, his music sucks and he's become the poster-boy for the current post-pop-punk-fat-15-year-old-gi... movement.
and they're not Emo, so stop calling it that.

what he said.
funny shit.....sad but funny

I'll also add that probably the most successful Christian 'indie' artist, in my mind, is Danielson/Danielson Famile.
That dude is completely bizarre and out there, is totally respectable as an artist and is hardcore, straight up Biblical Christian - without being preachy, cheesy, or crazy sounding. (besides the sound of his voice, I mean)
Sufjan Stevens might be a close second.
That's probably why they're pals.
- sauerbraten0
old Pedro.
- sauerbraten0
wait, Sufjan?
weally?
