Too Many Resellers

I'm looking to setup a reseller hosting acount. After much research I have found several that could work. I could list 10–15 easily.
The thing is, they are all basically the same. It's like they are all selling the same thing as their own company. You call to get details and reach someone on a cell phone while they are driving in traffic, if your lucky. What's up with that?
Anyone know what the deal is with these reseller accounts? I'm feeling a little skeptical about them.

all depends on what you need.. it really isn't that much money to put a server in a datacenter so it's fairly easy for someone with a little extra cash (couple hundred a month +server costs and setup) to setup their own server for reseller accounts.
that's why you see so many people offering reseller accounts. it's much more of a pain in the ass to setup a hosting company with end users (like MT).
basically if they have a good uptime, decent prices, and not so sh*tty service, don't worry about them not having a true support # with a guy in an office sitting on the line.
