NYC bar/venue suggestions

  heading out to nyc with the girlfriend. from san francisco. any recommends for good bars with good punk/indie jukeboxes (like Lucky 13 in SF) or live acts? also looking for any ideas for good drum and bass bars. no uber-clubs with guys showing chest hair. small dives are good for us. appreciate it.
