In Design is really frustrating me today.
Can anyone explain why text in it's own text box will not display over a placed image. The image is sent to the back and the text box is brought to the front, so its not a problem of layering. Thanks.

Not sure. Maybe the image has the text wrap on?

your image is black and your type is black...
problem solved, sarcastically

kidding aside
you might have a look at your layers... send to back and stuff doesn't work if they are on different layers

InDesign does not handle text wrap like Quark by default. If you have text on top of an object with text wrap enabled it will still be affected. You can do a few things.
- Turn off text wrap on that object.
- Cntrl-click on the text box and go to "Text Box Options" and choose "Ignore Text Wrap".
- Change the behavior in preferences to act like Quark.

I agree with thompson, they may be on different layers. I'd check that next.
