also relevant to this thread... i think i am gonna get me one of those new build t-shirts they are cool

they should burn it to the ground and never rebuild it - or at least get some decent lecturers in there... - I just lie and put 'LCP' as my place of design education - I wish.

build, i had a technical question.
have you ever put through a paper which has been painted over with acrylic through the laser jet? is that safe?
i think it would be but i am not sure.

Just a question slightly off-topic: You are an NTB Broadcast Author right? Why did you post that in the PBS?
Just curious.

"i think i am gonna get me one of those new build t-shirts they are cool"

zedvox> I wouldn't trust that. The transfer rollers heat up to like 300-400 degrees F to fuse the toner to the paper. Might Melt the paint onto the rollers...
- zedvox0
thats what i was afraid of...
oh well i was trying to experiment ona project...
bringing together
paitning, letterpress and digital printing...i guess painting and letterpress it is then. ;)
- DutchBoy0
i did once through my inkjet.. actually it was spraypainted paper (fluorescent orange) but the paint sucked in bits of the inkjet ink, it gave it sort of a rough look.. which i liked!
laserprinters... that's a different story. i think the heat will completely melt the paint and fuck up yer printer..
- ok_static0
i guess you should better try that out, but not with your own printer.
- rabattski0
depends on the laserprinter's transport of the paper. if it's almost a straight line there's a chance it might work. i've been pushing mine quite far.

Yuk. Newcastle College, wadda waste of time. Are Barrie and Ashley still running the course?
- zedvox0
hehe wasnt gonna do it on my printer..i don't even own one i have access to one at the Uni.
i have been playing with scanning in painted papers and using them as texture....just wanted to to experiment more....i guess letterpress would do.
maybe get a plate done.i need to learn silkscreening/litho and all that.bleh

a littel example...yeah i doing an article about peter saville an my mag...peter who...
this is not a joke...defending my work is hell....build.how was your ecperience with teachers who arent up to date with present visual culture?
- zedvox0
hehe tank i feel your pain
we have teachers in our school who think its morally wrong to bring in different practices together...the painters still wanna paint stupid nudes and apples...and some 3d animator prick still thinks pink is not a good color for a superhero. know what i mean?
- gsd0
christ I didn't think dipper would have been there back then! nah - I didn't mind having to hand draw type, but it was his blindness to the world of technology and progression that I couldn't get with...
last I heard he's not there anymore though...
