CSS h1 display

  i fancy myself pretty good a xhtml / css, but am pulling my hair out over a simple little thing...
  how can i get my h1 headers to have no top margin / vertically align their text...i have tried everything i can think of

  fixed it ....

  bit of a hack, but i now have my h1 and h2 set with a position relative and now that vertical margin disappears
