this is maddening beyond belief... after 7 years of collecting and creating fonts on OS 9 I can't fucking put load them into panther for the fucking life of me. is there some sort of converter needed for this shit? I got extensis, font book extensis suitcase X etc. googled all that... what's up?!

Fonts that worked in OS 9 will work in OS X. It's possible you just aren't putting them in the right place. Delete all your font management apps and try FontAgent Pro.

I had the same problem when i first started using OS X. My problem was that i was keeping my fonts and postscripts in different folders. For them to work correctly in OS X they need to be together in the same folder. Once I did that all my font's worked fine.
i keep all my fonts in one folder categorized and when i want to use them i just drag and drop in to suitcase and load them.
WORKS PERFERCT FOR ME!!
let's share some fonts..
what you got?

yeah, I have different folders of fonts in various categories, add the folder to suitcase as a set, and then activate the fonts within as needed, and it seems to work fine.

been dealing with that this pasat week too. got suitcase. it came with "Font Doctor",...neat little program. i like. works well. givve it a try! not all that happy with suitcase, it's just ok, a bit confusing,...
i just put all the fonts i want to use in my user>library>fonts folder, (that's after running them through Font Doctor), - no problems.
