I'm trying to do a webstandard based css layout. but I have a problem. In safari 1.0 on my mac osx 10.2.8 ther's this big gap between the picture and the menu.
Any suggestions?

set to margin-left: 0px; for the image

It's the gap above the image that is the problem. Not on the left.
Thx for the reaction. Any help is welkom.

in doing what i said, it has removed the space from the top.
but then your text "welcome to my site" move under the image.
also i got rid of a "float" attribute in on of your elements.

Yeh ok that works but the text is under the image like you said and that's not the intention.

then why not call an absolute position in a div for the welkom text etc
