I might buy an Aeron Chair today, my back, neck and shoulders have been killing me lately and I think it's time to finally get a decent chair since I work 12-14 hours a day.
I'm just freakin out about the money...make me feel better!
Anyone else got one, or any other chair? How do ya feel? Etc Etc Etc

i really don't understand all the hype about aeron chairs..
they aren't THAT awesome..
the fact that EVERY company i've ever worked for.. i've had one.. and everyone else in the company has had one.. has made me dull to the coolness factor.. i have a chair at home that's just an old vintage padded office chair that i find more comfortable than the hard wiring and stiff nettin of the aeron..
i will give it to them for the adjustable arm heights and lumbar back support though..

I have one at work, my legs used to get num from sitting all day in a normal "Officemax" type chair. not anymore.
you could try to find some on ebay, or used ones. after the DOTCOM FALL lots of companies are still selling areon chairs

how about the mirra compared to the aeron...?
newer and less expensive....

I just bought a Aeron, I wanted one for a long time and I always tought.... the money.... the money. BUT it's worth it.
The thing I like the most it's that you just forget the chair, it's not a sofa, it's just a chair that you forget and dont sweat in. + lumbar support.
Mira... well i'm not crazy about the plastic, and it's lot harder than the net for the back I suppose.

spend the dough and get the most comfortable one, that's my suggestion.

thanx all!
Yeah i'm rockin the ebay!!!
And for the Mirra, I checked that out but there was just something about it, the best way to describe it is that when i sat in the aeron i felt like I was floating where in the mirra, it felt cheaper and that i was "sitting" in it.
There is another chair from humanscale called the freedom chair, now that's the cheese, but it's just way too much bling for me.

a few things to consider when getting an aeron chair:
get the right size for yourself-
they come in 3 sizes, and it makes a giant difference. check their site for the fitting guide. i am a big guy, and i have a 3, and it makes a huge difference.
if you buy it used, you don't get the warranty-
this sucks, but at the same time, its very much worth getting it from a dealer.
you can search around and find an authorized dealer that will give you a good deal on one, especially if you tell them that you are a designer, usually they give you a break. mine had the tilt adjustment go out in it, and instead of fixing it, i got a completetly new chair. boom! no questions asked, it just arrived.the other really nice thing is that the warranty covers the new chair longer than it did the old chair, so in theory, i will have an aeron chair that is under warranty for about 20 years.
the dealer will also give you a loaner chair to test out, and if you have any problems you can get a loaner for a few days.
the dealer may also let you test out a mirra vs. an aeron for a few days to see which one you want.you can get them in colors-
if you want, you can throw down the extra coin and get the colored panels, or better, the chrome bits for the chair. these weren't available when i got mine, back in the day.
you won't be sorry.
