Can anyone point me to a program (hopefully freeware) that removes the vocals from a song. I used to have a winamp plugin that did this , but I'm wondering if there's a program that can output the sound files. It would be awesome if could remove the sound to get accapella. I dunno if this is possible?

try opening it in a sound program and remove the center channel. it's usually the primary channel for voice.

there are a variety of programs that do this type of thing and they measure out frequency levels and such to pick out the vocals. Steinberg makes some of them.
