I don't learn from bad experiences, positive input is what I look for, I tend to run away from bad experiences, the solution to the problem it's always tutoring and contructivism (hehehehe) as some dude said, never a bad stupid nonsense critic remark from somebody that wants to shape your mind to what he or she wants. Ok I can go drink a beer now :)

I actually agree » 90% of responses when asked for crits are () (zero) while some still have the patience to spend a bit time on researching each others points of work. and actually, macaso, judging from your responses on some critic threads, you should be the last to rant on this materia.

Good criticism isn't just about "this is shit" or "this is good" - it's an evaluation - an open discussion about a piece of work. I for one am always interested in what someone else thinks about a movie/design work. In the hands of an expert i truly respect, whole new dimensions of thought and insight can be brought into my appreciation of something, which i had never thought about before.
Like fuck dude - the only reason anyone EVER makes a film, writes a book, designs posters/websites, does art - is so other people can appreciate it. The free-flow of culture. But then you go around bitchin that not everyone is appreciative of ur skillz. Dont be such a pussy. If a critic is obviously stupid and doesnt get ur shit, then don't worry about. But if all you want is for people to congratulate u on everything u do, then you're gonna be trapped in ur pathetic, ego wanking off to urself in the mirror.
If you're confident in ur work, and secure in ur reasoning; then u shud be able to stand up to the toughest critics. But fuckin at least appreciate that shit. If a critic hates ur work - that can sometime be a good thing, depending on who the critic is and the values ur work is being asessed on. Other times, ur work really is shit, and u need to be woken up out of ur self delusion.

have written into a newspaper here varios times due to this stooopid film critic who seems to pan all the blockbusters that the public love and give good reviews to the utter crap ones.
he has even had to apologise when his so called 'poor' films end up raken up heaps at the oscars (not that they are all that). it really annoys me. ive got issues.
