no way, if i am spending 19k its ford focus SVT...has gotten excellent reviews, plenty of ford dealers around for service, plus the repairs/parts will be much cost much less than the VW....

OK kids. The Jetta GLS 1.8 Turbo is basically the same price as the Focus SVT. I drove them both before I bought my Jetta. It drives WAY better and has more power.

2) Jettas are for chicks.
Buy a Toyota or a Honda and it will last forever. Toyotas are better and last a bit longer, but slightly more expensive. You'll always get your money's worth with these two brands and they're reasonable.
To all you jetta driving dudes out there, I'm only kidding. Sorta.

you really can't compare the two, focus is all cheap plastic everything inside and offers you nothing more than that.
with a jetta/golf/gti, you're getting a german engineered car with high quality interior parts and feel when you drive it.
if you wanna drive a cheap little car and don't care about quality of life, get a focus. if you want a car that is good at everything, get a jetta/golf/gti. once you do, go to www.vwvortex.com

yeah, don't get a jetta. it was on the top ten gay cars, along with jeep wrangler, vw beetle, mazda miata.
get a gti or golf i like me.
i also have a 1986 golf with 250k+ miles on it that still runs fine and it's not like it was well taken care of.

They stopped making it in 93. They are very problem prone, I've owned 2, one was the 900 Turbo. It looked cool and was unique, but a total P.O.S.

Even a low end Jetta 2.0L can compete with the Focus...SVT or no! Nothing good has come out of Ford unless its a GT or truck.
Now...the sexuality comments - i dont get it. i mean Doesnt the American Ido drive a focus...now that is GAY.
