Any chance you guys can do me a favour and do a site check for me.
I've used this delay function throughout the site which seems to be buggy. (ie: all my animations play way before they were intended on some browsers. Anyways here's the link.
http://www.fluidinsight.com/inteā¦I'll post the delay function in the next post for all you flash geezers to have a look at.

here's the function.
//Initialize Delaystation.
MovieClip.prototype.DelayStation...
this.DelayStation_framerate=31;
this.stop();
this.DelayStation_interval = setInterval(this.DelayStation_Re...
}
MovieClip.prototype.DelayStation...
reference.play();
clearInterval(reference.DelaySta...
}And how I'm calling it.
//Set delay.
DelayStation_Delay(30);I'm loading all the sections into the same movieclip on the root timeline (ie: they replace each other when they're called) I think the problem may stem from calling this function from the external swfs. Hope someone cn shed some light on this.

looks fine to me :)
1 Q how did you do that anmation of the doodle on our work section? was it using as or masks or what . just im a student and i want to do something similar using vines for my final show , cheers.
- Nematoth0
seems to work fine on windows XP Pro SP1 with Firefox...
Also seems to work fine on IE6..
and on Netscape 7.1...
And on Netscape Communicator 4.8...
So no problems for me.. assuming you want the text to display first, then the highlighting and other animations after a few seconds... (there is perhaps about a 3 second delay between the texta ppearing and the other animations playing)

Thanks for testing.
it seems to work fine now, I think its some problem with testing the movie through flash, seems to work fine in all browsers. cheers for testing on a PC Nematooth.
As for the a doodle, its masked yup. I can send you the fla if you want cos I've done few things to make it work a bit faster. Ding that sort of thing with as is a bit painstaking and won't look as homemade.

yeah that would be great thanks,
email it too innovate_8@yahoo.co.uk

You got mail.

Ok, I still seem to be having problems with this code. If you press the main nav buttons real quick it seems to de-activate the 'delay station' I posted at the start of this thread. Anyone? Unfit?! Thanks.

*Bumpitty bump
- jevad0
I find it unbearably sloooooow
- silencer0
yup, the bloody client wants it like that what can you do? can anybody help?
- spmitch0
had a similar problem, but i wasa using setInterval()
anyway the buttons have to clear the function otherwise it tries to reload the movie in the middle of the function creating a looped effect.
- silencer0
I need to find a solution for this as the site goes live tomorrow. Ass = On the line.
- stewart0
it is soooooow sloooooow that i quit the website before the main menu was loaded.
- jevad0
you just need to tell them you have tested the site with some people and get negative feedback about how slow it is....bullshit them with usability and user experience stories man
- silencer0
The site was pretty fast before they got there hands on it man, but I reallly need to find a fix for this delay station script, the speed issue is a different matter.
- silencer0
hey spmitch I missed your post, sorry. What do you mean by the buttons clearing the function?
- spmitch0
are you are talking about if you double click one of the nav buttons it screws up the timing of the function so it loops....does that make sense?
- k0na_an0k0
a few things.
1) it's super slow. not just some of the animations but the whole drawing things out is really slow.
2) when the text fades in along with the nav at the bottom it has this extremely clean feel that i thought the rest of the site would be. then up pops the text in the upper right hand corner (i clicked on work) and a squiggly drawing starts and i just thought it was messy. two styles counteracting each other.
3) as a whole though i like it and couldn't find anything wrong with it functionaly.
nice work.

Yeah! Its weird because I'm not calling the delay function from any buttons. i haven't a clue whats goin on. I've just found another bug as well :\
