Never a fan of them, I've seen them and Trey Anastazio on television shows, and I've never been impressed. That guy just seems like a wierdo, like on too many uppers. He's all into the music, which is great, but he's just sitting there jamming on some chord over and over, just strumming and bopping his head like he's into it like Hendrix setting a guitar on fire during the National Anthem.

Jam band? Puh-lease.
Phish is brilliant and if you have never been to one of their shows, you have my personal guarantee that you missed out on a beautiful experience.
Hippie jokes are good and fine...but in this age of crap "recording artists," there is no substitute for a band that consistently ventured beyond the blue yonder of commercialism to bring the *true* spirit of music to the hearts and souls of billions of fans. Quite successfully, I might add.
Their sound was unique, inspirational. We should all strive to be what they were to the spirit of creativity.
Excuse me while I go play a Avril Levigne record.
