bout time they rethought, games are way more boring than they used to be, reach a middleground of graphics and concept gameplay and you might catch me playing one again.. bring back the calssic graphics styling, flying jellyfish and shit! there is hope:

I remember when children used to be happy with just a stone and some mud, when you could get a suit for 6p AND have change for the bus, which used to take me here, when it was all FIELDS!

well I didn;t mean releasing Mario etc, just good to see a focus on something other than basically reskinning 3d fight games with better quality graphics etc, be nice to see some actual development of the gae itself rather than just the cosmetics.

theres been some awesome games lately. i dont want to go back to the bat and ball days. sometimes people can be too oldschool.

"He said he wanted the DS to be a return to the simplicity of the two-button console, which Nintendo pioneered."
sounds like they have run out of ideas to me.

no, he's right:
"Some of the people in the industry still believe we can simply beef up the current technology in order to provide a constant supply of games to people. We don't agree with that."
basically, a lot of those 'people' he's talking about are doing to gaming what hollywood is doing to movies: "producing crap" unless your into gratuitous special effects and crap plot...
producers have it in their heads that realism is the key to a successfull game. sounds like gorge lucas syndrome to me.

I dunno. a movie isnt interactive, you cant choose the path a movie takes.
And games have come along long way sinse sonic the hedgehog. gta is a prefect exmple, and metel gear solid. i think a two button consol is interesting, and will be challenging for the game designers, but try playing fifa with it.

I don't reckon there are many games where you really determine the course of the game, maybe Populous & Black & White. But most games you're on a predetermined problem solving journey.
