Reformat OS9

hello,
how would i go about remformating the hard drive on a G4 going from os9 to os9. I just wanna wipe this fucker clean and start over - but for the life of me i can't remember how....

I think you can "initialize" the disk upon install. So when you put in your OS9 disk, it should give you the option to initialize and then install. It'll wipe the hard drive and start all over fresh!

Boot from the OS9 CD and use the initialization options in the Drive Set-up utility.

remeber to click on "zero all data" in the options for a real good wipeout...might take longer but worth it for a clean new start.

buggy machine - installing panther right after. as with most printers os9 is still about 80%. The only time we need osX is to run jobs from adobe CS and quark 6.

is it before or after you initialize the disk?

its in the options before you intialize...its not a big deal if you don't do it...just makes for a super clean drive in the end.
