seems like the bird thing should be more complicated...like all that tribal stuff since it's a tattoo place...the way i see it is tattoos are cool because of all the lines and how extravagant they are, and your bird is quite simple and unadorned. just thoughts.

Those are good thoughts, and i will take them into consideration,
I didn't want to get too complicated, but maybe I went too simple. Does anyone see the negative space of the symbol forming an M or is it too subtle?

design as the logo as suggested.

I like your first designs better. no.2 (of the new ones) seems like there is some alignment issue with the pattern, and it just seems to clunky.

I think both are nice. I'd suggest a combo of the two. The form of the less complicated logo is more pleasing, but the intricacy of the second one reminds me more of a tattoo parlor.
Nice job, though, I like the text part a lot.

Well, the second one looks like a blade, so that might not be too pleasing for the customers:) Maybe look at some tattoo designs and try a few other things. The first one works tho...

Maybe you are too direct? The black things are growing into tatoos themselves.
What if you scrap them off and leave the type on its own? Or modify one of the letters to make it more suggestive?
