I'll be going there in a week to meet up with one of my buddies in Dharamsala. Has anyone ever been there, or know of some other spots to check out in Northern India?

i worked with a guy named dharmender. He was from around there and he rocked - hard.
he said you could walk in the hills and find pot plants growing wild. just rub the plant in your hands and smoke.

plus opium grows wild, and it's easy to spot.
Delhi's in northern india. Beautiful place with mosques and temples and palaces and shit.
Watch out for the crowds.

taj mahal is a must see
watch bollywood movies.. esp. YUVA ( http://www.yuvathefilm.com ).. its comin out on may 21.. and it'll b a good movie...
try not to travel alone... always take someone..
party at night, there r alot of dance joints there
take a lot of pics and post 'em on NTgood luck bud.. im sure u'll hav a hell of a time..

Yuva seems to be one of the better ones thats comin out of the indian movie scene rite now..
theres a differant aura from indian movie, u cant really compare them to hollywood movies... but still in some ways they hav got substance too...well watch them>mock them

Bollywood movies are getting better.although i must agree most mainstream is still shite.
I was born in Delhi and lived in a town nearby till i was 11.
As my fellow desi's already pointed out shop till you drop.
the best place to eat
Karim's ( http://www.karimhoteldelhi.com ) in the Nizammudin area of Old Delhi. It is the Muslim Center.
The cooks are from a family of Royal Mughal Cooks.The food is to die for. The actual place is a like a hole in a wal but very very popular.
Also enjoy the street foods but be smart about it you will be able to tell which places are safe to eat at.
Go check out the Lotus Temple, its like a full brother of the Sydney Opera House.

Thanks all, just got all my shots today, 5 of them to be exact, and they didn't really hurt when I got them but my arms are pretty sore right now. I'll post what I come back with in about a month. I'm taking a Canon Optura Xi MiniDV Camcorder, it survived Bay to Breakers (those in the bay area know, it still smells like beer) I think it'll make it back from India. The bus bombing in Kashmir yesterday really bummed me out. I don't really know what else to say about it. Anyway this thread will come back up when I get my videos up somewhere. I'm hoping for a huge eye opener.
