Is Design Dead?

Don't get me wrong. I plan to fight for design but it needs to be done in a celebratory way not in "fuck you" manner.
I gess us designers always need to be ready. are we?

i do enjoy reading.I am currently working on my BFA project. a lot of Rushdie influence.
i guess us immigrants have to deal with alienation much sooner than we would like to. ;)

design feeds on stylish mass concepts (which are mostly stupid and technocratic) and trendy elements of pop culture (which also includes underground separatists). It is mostly entertainment. so it
dies everytime some fashion does.

yes, design is lacking literature, poetry, philosophy. It needs something inside the technological skeleton.

To say design is dead is more an expression of the way you are feeling now. Regardless of whether the design is good or bad, YOU feel it's dead. You must be bored with what you are seeing, experiencing. For you, design may actually BE dead. It's up to you to do something about it.

i agree winter.
i feel most of the times design lacks soul.
