has anyone ever come across a swf or .exe working perfectly on their own yet not working within a browser? its a fairly straight forward movie. help.

not the right plugin?
- donal0
nah its not that. the movie plays, but one of the main actionscripts in the movie doesn't execute properly when in the browser.

what does it look like? some fscommands don't work in a browser environment.
- donal0
there ain't no fscommands - its all contained within the movie. weird eh?

odd. and you dragged the swf right into the browser or did you make a html page with the swf embedded in it?

i outputted the page from flash, the html is fine. i think i may have to start afresh, i cant think of anything that would cause this - another one for the bug list?

either you have an old version online cached by your browser:

http://www.macromedia.com/suppor…or your not makinngyour actionscript sequentially. This means that when your testing your swf within Flash the compiling and code execution is almost intantaneous, and sequence [almost] doesn't matter [ie: get XML and ONLY then parset it with an onLoad event, not the contrary].
Sometimes is good to create a setInterval to trigger a function only after some 100, 200 milliseconds.
