Not that I know of, and when I use the default OSX software (FontBook), it crashes when I try to import my fonts cause I think I've got too many...

www.download.com.might have something

Why not upgrade to X1 for $50? If you're living in England that's about £30. Give up a saturday night and look after your fonts instead.

You probably have a corrupted font..or quite a few corrupted fonts. I would try adding fonts one at a time...seeing if you can identify the faulty critter font that you downloaded for free somewhere cuz you thought it would look cool....bet your regretting that freefontsrus.com download....

i'd listen to codogg... suitcase is oversensitive to bad fonts. every mac i've owned has been oversensitive to fonts. there is no other progrom on download.com dude, so its fontbook or suitcase. there is no ATM for osX.
trash all suitcase preferences, which can be in 3 places now in X. then move all the fonts out of the various library/fonts folders into a storage bin, and move the common fonts now in the system folder (arial, helvetica, futura, verdana) and turn them on through suitcase instead. but you have trash preferences to start a fresh install with nothing turned on. good luck.

I don't know shit about macs and how softwares handles their databases and all that stuff. One thing I know is I had that problem on pc couple of times. Well suitcase is really sensitive to so much things. on my part when I try to view all my active fonts it just froze and and whenever I try to open it freeze on startup as you said. My workaround was backup all my data files which were in the data folder and then, just delete them and start the suitcase. it worked I could open the damned software. of course I ve changed my setting other than to previewmy active fonts, and quit the software and then replace the data files as I remembered.
