anybody heard of em!
Isnt this the same betalounge that practically started the whole online music/event streaming thing back around 1996, in association with Wired?

Resurrecting a seriously old thread here, but this site is still going strong, even though they've moved from SF to Hamburg... There is an absolute stomper of a set on there from Vincenzo... it's not what you'd expect from him at all, but it's absolutely amazing. The set's 3.5 hours long, so it'll keep you going for half a day at work playing in the background... it even has a cover of wonderwall that I actually like...
http://www.betalounge.com - my most favourite music site in the world.

I played a live set there a million years ago! Now I work half a block up from their old space, in SF. Betalounge was fun, laid back and no attitude- every Thursday night! You'd BYOB and just kick it with heads, listen to great DJs play records. The guys who ran it were super cool too, always down to show you what they were doing, how they did it, etc. That's the kinda stuff I miss in SF now!!

Yeah, i remember the audio from the MC so clearly... down near 1015 Fulsom from memory... I've been listening since 98, so I have a lot of great memories... I just wish I'd gotten there before it closed...
There are some recordings on there that truly send chills down my spine... I remember one of the first sets from Hamburg was when the world in general was protesting the war in Iraq, and the MC was talking about tens of thousands of people taking to the streets across the globe, as gloriously beautiful beats played in the background... I remember those protests, and I remember the first time I heard that set... God I love that place. I really do.
