Yeah, I lived off the Marcy Ave stop for a bit--just one stop away from Hewes. Area is nice, the problem is that it hasn't seen the same gentrification as north Williamsburg, but the prices have definitely skyrocketed. I'm sure there are still deals though. It's still mainly Hispanic and Hasidic.

Screw Williamsburg. Check East Harlem near the 6 train.

Wllmsbrg is ok,
if you're under 25 and went to Brown.
Check JC, less $ and you'll be a lot closer to manhattan.

Up and down braodway (along the jmz) isn't so bad. It's when you get onto bedford that it gets so thick with hipsters it hurts.
