I'm suffering the dreaded pixel shift in Flash, I have a bitmap image inside a MC which has a png with transparent gradient that slides across it to replicate a mask, since putting the image in the MC it is suffering pixel shift.
I have tried setting to 99%, its registered to the corner and on a whole pixel, whats teh dealio?
Maybe I should make that image a png aswell?

can you make the transparent gradient in flash instead of it being a png?

The frame that holds the png, is it longer than one keyframe?
Otherwise make sure you keep it restricted to one keyframe only.
Also check if it's placed on whole integers.

You often get pixel shift from putting something over the top of a bitmap... coz it's trying to anti-alias a vector that is sitting on top of your bitmap

mennik: its a MC with a tween of the png transparent sliding left to right to reveal the jpg (which is px shifting) underneath, tus dummying a gradient mask.
so I'm fucked then?

dont worry I found a work around.. I had to take the base jpg (which was shifting) out of the movie clip, break it apart so that it is no longer a symbol and then place it under the MC of the gradient... daft eh?!

can we see the result?

its nothing fancy just a logo on black that fades in from one side.
