yeah ribit, that's the one.
I just saw it on dabs for a pretty good price and it seems pretty spot on features wise.
Do you use it for any video work?
How does it hold up?
What about vector smoothing? Is is it all good??

Apple Cinema Display 23 inch ....

..although I am hoping Apple are going to upgrade their displays in June. That's the only way I can afford a 23 in Cinema display!

soda... I'm not doing any video... just a lot of photo work and page layout for an online design news magazine... so mainly need the desktop space to see lots of stuff at once, and clarity...color matching not an issue, but seems good.

Apple 20" LCD

I still prefer the look of CRT's... I am a color freak and LCD's still don't match up in my opinion- especially on PC's.

dan, i got a toshiba 5205-s705. I thought it was special til somebody pointed out that even compaq is offering uxga in many of their laptops. for some reason, toshiba dropped this product after like 2-3 months. I wish they had upgrades, its an nutty computer with MCE, DVD-RW, harman/kardon speakers with sub woofers, tv in/out....but the best feature is the monitor. Toshiba is nutty!

What is so great about LaCie displays? I notice like half of the people here use it. Does any other displays compare to it? Samsung? Sony? ViewSonic?

Lacie has good design, good quality, features, warranty...
Only other brand I will consider is Sony...all the others tend to have awful product design... I'm originally an industrial designer, and I'm not going to support poor industrial design, and besides I have to look at it all the time and it's just too frustrating...

The insides of the LaCie are nothing more than that as a mitsubishi monitor. I use them because I got a good deal on two- the look sharp, and yes I like the design.
