MPEG2 Decoder

  Ok, this seems like it should be really obviuos, but I can't find the answer...

  I have a few MPEGS (don't really know which one) and I can't read them. WMP and RealPlayer both ask you to install the decoder (DirectShow) to play them, but does not give you any direction beyond that. Can't find anything on the web, besides installing DVD software for conversions and such (which I don't need).

  Any ideas? Am I missing something really obvious??

  hi Markus.

  If quicktime can't read them either they were wrongly name [mov instead of mpeg, etc...] or they're corrupt.

  Sometimes I had to uninstall divx to mpegs using WMP.
