ok, now i need to do video with streaming properties in MX (i don't have 2004).. i have been looking but seems like most everything shows up using the new stuff in '04 with FLVs and all that.
i don't care if its a true stream or one that's close enough, the file doesn't have to be dynamically loaded either, just needs to be able to play w/out waiting for the entire thing to load..
anybody have a tut or FLA to DL?
thank you kindly

if you're a begginer, MX2004 makes it more easy to use streaming video using one of their media player [large] components...
One good tutorial.
http://www.macromedia.com/devnet…If you can't use MX2004 u could use this video player [export your video as swf, either with Flash or Sorenson] and link its path to it.

i'm not a beginner, but i haven't done all that much with video, i've done alot of stuff just with embedding the movie and loading the entire thing via a normal preloader.
i like the component thing, but would like to reskin the crap, components seem really confusing to me, overly so.

Then u should do your own components. You usually can achieve 1/10 of the size at least of most components that Macromedia develops.
Too much garbage/ useless options.

I programmed a video player component for a recent project.
I really worked for me.
Its skinnable using FStyleFormat. There are still some things to improve like live preview during authoring, docu and keyboard controll.
