Cool off before you start another utility crisis, and don't hate just because everyone wants to live in a state with Arnold Schwartzeneggar at the helm. I'm only here cuz I missed my bid to move to Minnesota.
PS- I don't do blow and I even pay my taxes

wow i'm from ny and it sounds so crazy to hear about neighborhoods that are up and coming with gangsters about.
our up and coming neighborhoods aren't as safe but i wouldn't say there were gangsters and usually they are up and coming just because there aren't a large amount of trendy restaurants and bars yet. la seems so strange.

Keep in mind Los Angeles is 4,081 square miles, so New Yorkers' vision of this place being all palm trees and surfers eating yogurt is way off. L.A. is more versatile than the image it portrays on TV with every type of neighborhood and person imaginable.

Valencia baby. all your dreams'll come true and you'll wind up doing the whole murder/suicide thing (which is highly under-rated btw).

kids on the way as soon as i move hopefully. i grew up in orange county. i was close enough to LA... and i went to a private art high school there. it was the best experience i could have had growing up. im glad i wasnt right in the mix of a bad neighborhood or undesirable living conditions/environment for children. the public elementary and jr high i went to were excellent. AND we had enough money at the end of the day for family vacations, gymnastics, travelling, and other activities. just because you live in the burbs means you lack culture. it doesnt mean your kids will end up with problems either. Good parenting will take care of that.
but, i dont might not being anywhere near and area where people who don't belong in your neighborhood are lurking around ready to stick crayons up my kids butts where i cant let my teenage kids stay out past sun down.
anyone who says they'd buy in silverlake, echo park or any of those dicey areas doesnt have any children and probably arent thinking about having a family (or a woman) for a long long time.

damn shel, i know three people that own/rent there. so, it's a lil thuggish, it's got a cool vibe too. but yeah, I know what you mean.
i'd have to live up on the hill in the Caucasian enclave.
