Hey, i'm wondering if anyone knows why you need airport extreme to use the video adaptor on an emac? doesnt make sense to me, i don't see the connection.
from the Apple site:
"Apple Video Adapter
The Apple Video Adapter for iBook, PowerBook G4 (12"), eMac (with AirPort Extreme), or 17-inch iMac (1GHz) was specially designed to allow users to connect to S-video or composite video devices..."

I really dont think it makes a difference, its probably just some sales talk re. the emac.. did you ask an apple store?

Yeah, thats what i reckon. I'm buying the emac on saturday, so i'll ask then. I don't really need airport now so i'd like to avoid spending the extra on it till i do.

Maybe the eMac doesn't have the right port but the Airport does. So if you have an Airport you can connect the thingy to it and then that's remotely connected to your eMac.

why not just buy an Imac?

Because i can spend $1942 to get an emac with the same spec as an imac that would cost me $3859. The only real difference being the LCD screen. That's why I don't want an imac.
*above prices are in australian dollars.
