Parking ticket!

I totally got a parking ticket tonight while I was having dinner for a friend's birthday. But when I looked closer at the ticket they totally put in the wrong license plate number! Do I just not pay it now? Can they still find me out?

Of course they can't. Don't worry.
Tip: attach the plates with Velcro and just take em off in the future. Not sure about the laws where you're at, but here they can't tow an anonymous veichle unless you've parked for 24 hours. Te-hee.

maybe some dude was pissed and put it on your screen?
does it say anything about your car? Here it's not only license plate but also car brand/type details and color i believe..

I think I'm just not going to pay and see what happens. It wasn't even a police ticket, it was from the company tha towns the lot. Anyways, no vin or anything so I think I'm cooliolio.

i've gotten payment requests for a ticket in the mail before because somebody wrote down the wrong number. I disputed it, and they dropped it.
If you keep disputing things, tough, they'll start asking for proof.

I got one with the same issue. Don't pay it. They won't be able to figure it out.
In the highly unlikely event that they do... they will simply send you a reminder notice to pay.
I never pay parking tickets until I get a reminder notice.
furthermore, when I do get a parking ticket, I just put it on another car's windshield. sometimes they don't notice that the license plate doesn't match and they pay it for me.
