Well, the domain name providers that you suggested don't sell .eu.com domain names. Here go my results:
1. Cheapest .eu.com registrar - http://www.123-reg.co.uk (£11/year)
2. Cheapest .com registrar - http://www.clickaname.com (£5/year)
3. Cheapest .co.uk registrar - http://www.lycos.co.uk (£2.5/year)
Of course, I am sure that there are other good domain name sellers. However, I have been working with http://www.clickaname.com so far and they were decent (except the support part).
More suggestions welcomed ;-).

And junit, you can BUY domain names, usually, from 2 years to 10 years. It becomes YOUR domain name (when registered on your name).
There are companies that give you the domain name but REGISTER it on their name - watch out for these. If, for example, the site becomes successful, they can simply take this domain name (because it's their technically) and you will be left whistling ;-).

You can't buy domain names (apart from buying the rights from someone else). All you can do is register it.
