I don't charge late fees for clients I want to keep.

get someone to go after their asses. It's rather easy, they get your money and you give them a very small cut.

george toomer taught me a cool trick, make a really baddassed invoice so they really dont know what to make of it, they usually pay.

5% every 5 calendar days. No if's, and's or but's....And have your clients sign a contract, so you dont have to send some Sopranos-type individual to collect your funds.

2 reminders, one friendly and one not-so-friendly, then a quite nasty mark-up if those fail to affect.

got the contract bit sorted fine, just want to compare with others on the fees and timing
i constantly feel like i should be charging late fees, but like Mimio attested to, most times don't because i value my relationship with them since i am 100% freelance
