remember when Slayer was about to drop Divine intervention and everybody was wondering if they too, like metallica and anthrax, were going to suck a dck and sound soft....
they dropped the fuckin bomb on everyone and came out harder than ever. Paul Bostaph actually whooped them a new asshole to boot.

OK you got me. I am James Hetfield AND I'M PISSED.
I was drunk during the 90's and was too wasted to see that Lars and Kirk has transformed our band into a country and western band. It got so bad we even let Kid Rock use our riffs in one of his songs.
When I got out of rehab I realized Jason Newsted had quit in disgust and I had tatooed the words "Place corporate cock here" on my tounge.
I was so pissed I took the band back over and changed the style back to something heavier....something angrier...something ST ANGRIER!!
But it's just not the same. We sound like shit. I mean we are really bad. Maybe it's lars going to the bathroom and coming out sniffing all the time or maybe it's Kirk wearing panties to band practice. The new guy touches me sometimes and that'sfreaking me out....sometimes.
Oh well....Maybe the kids will listen to Clutch. Now those guys rock.
by the way....'Crash course in brain surgery' is good...though it's a cover.

i found that metal got pretty fuckin tired sounding after awhile, and i just couldn't stand listening to it anymore...Metallica being one of the main reasons...now i'm not the type that wants a band to produce the same stuff every album...but damn...i do appreciate a little integrity...a little artistic integrity goes a long way...so when i first heard 'enter sandman'...well..that was the end of the road for me...metallica, and the whole genre pretty much had just jumped the shark...a friend once told me, that you could tell when a era in music was coming to an end, when the artists in a certain genre start making 'concept' albums...
prog rock on a grand scale, like pink floyd and genesis kind of died after 'the wall' and 'the lamb lies down on broadway'
or hair metal, when queensryche did 'operation mindcrime'
anyhow....metallica didnt' even wait for the concept album...they took thrash and speed metal and wrote the 'pour some sugar on me' for their genre...ok....thats too many 'genres' in one post...

Metallica was good in the old days.
Jason was the only smart one. Except dont ever see his band! I cannot even remember the name. They were at Ozzfest last year.
But Jason on stage with OZZY!!! Now that kicks ass. Playing bass with the godfather and Zakk Wylde!!
