comcast IP address

Anybody else get the email today saying that you have to pay to use more than one computer if you have comcast broadband?
Told us to use an airport to get our desktop and laptop connected when we first got the service. Now they want to charge an extra $5.I understand bandwidth issues, but they just DOUBLED it!
any thoughts?

Get a router with MAC cloning and tell Comcast to eat it.

Optimum Online in the US is doing the same thing.
I'm currently using a LinSys router (Mac + PC) along with Airport. It's working OK except when I try to tunnel in through a VPN - then they simply shut off the service and I have to reboot.
Very annoying...Oh well, capitalism prevails...

it would seem right that they would make you pay for an extra IP, they have to pay for them in the first place... but i agree, just get a router, i used to have one on my dsl for two comptuers

comcast can kiss my arse. my service has been going down every day for the past 4 days.
they next payment they get will be accompanied by a flaming bag of dog poo.

too bad people fall for that. get a router for God's sake. I assume some do this and some don't, mine does whatever it needs to do that a simple hub would not.
