There is a PayPal scam e-mail going around, latley. When you click on the hyperlink inside of the e-mail, it sends you to www.paypal.vg, or to http://v093707.dd2336.kasserver.….
Thought I'd just WARN everybody NOT TO OPEN this crap. Oh, and DON'T log-in, whatever you do.
Someone I know just about fell for it.

Ooh, that is bad. That is very bad.

Wow! That's scary - they even took over the browser address bar so that it looks like your at the PayPal website...

the best i've seen...
got an email from bank one asking to verify my account because they are dealing with identity theft issues. they wanted me to... get this... send them back an email with my name, bank name, and account #'s. they had all the bank one logos and shit and it was written all professional.
wow. if it's that easy then i'm in the wrong business of fucking people over.

scary....so they put a layer showing the paypal url where the standar settings put the address field. cleaver.
- jox0
ooh, I didn't see that layer at first. It doesn't really align well when you ahve the google toolbar...
How the hell do you even place a div "outside" the freakin browser window?
- jox0
Also, I would like to propose a toast to the person who came up with the BRILLIANT idea of putting his SCAM PAGE in a folder entitled just that ("scam page"), which is visible in the URL. Ha ha ha ha

Rule number 1. Never click on the links embedded in an email when it deals with your account stuff for any site.
Always type in the address.. then login to see if the crap is real.

this thing has been around for like two years... the layer that makes you think you're at the site is a new twist though.

also seems to fail with the xp sp2 beta.

"scam page" !!!
haha, thats the best

hmm i wonder what would happen if I *did* enter my usr/pwd... I bet they log it and then try for themselves on the actual site..
Eno, why don't you try it out first and tell me what happens? ;)

hey i got this email about 2 months ago asking me to sign in and agree with the new terms and conditions, after typing in my email and password.. it suddenly hit me that this could be a scam. So i quickly changed my password to my account.
- dr_Shim0
I entered
and as a password,
are fucking great:)
It says that I failed to log-in, but it did not forward me to the real PayPal site. Also, just discovered that they put two cookies on your computer. :\
Scams... Sheesh.
