I have a PDF doc..about 10 pages and 3.3 MB. I want it to be smaller. The pages are all 8.5 x 11. Anyone have a clue on how to reduce the size of a PDF?

smaller images & higher compression.

you could reduce the things that you are importing into the PDF itself. no?

I could...but if thier designs...this is for a designer's portfolio...then I think the designer wants to the viewer to see the images.
The idea is to have an alternative portfolio than a website...

Go to Advanced>PDF optimizer.
You can change the resolution and junk in there. I'm on 6, can't remember if it's in Acrobat 5.

I would do what Mayo suggests. But I believe its only in Acrobat 6

If its for screen run it through Distiller with the Ebook setting - and it should compress it quite nicely.

radar, can you run a pdf thru Distiller? I tried that before suggesting the other thing (i thought it was a 6.0 feature, thanks lost), but i just get an error log.

yeah I don;t think that will work for me. It won;t do pdfs...and what we have is multiple image files.

and i take it you're not on Acrobat 6? when do you need this by? i could possibly try to do it for you.

I don't have 6. No deadline. Just trying to solve the problem
