family personal computer spec?

whats the good spec of a family computer? i was thinking of getting one of them cool lil mini-itx boards and creating my own case - but the cpu speed doesnt seem gr8 compare with most amd or intel speeds out their now

pc wise.... most basic dells and gateways are shipping with p4 2.5ghz and up, with at least 128 mb DDR2700 ram and a 40 gig hd. And they're selling them with 17 inch monitors typically for under $650

roflmao. All things go yellow after a while mate. For a family computer a PC is the best bet, although, do your best to keep them secure.

a 486 would do! if you're lucky you may even find one with solitaire and all those other avantguard programs installed! alternatively you can also try the Pentium 1... it's like... sooo retroo maaaan
