How would I register something like this?:
www.i.am.a.rockstar.com - instead of www.iamarockstar.com.
any ideas? I've tried - but for some reason I can't get it to work.

you would need to buy rockstar.com and then set it up to have i.am.a. as a subdomain.

you would have to register rockstar.com, which is probably not going to happen

that was an example domain name to show what I want to do.
but how do you register a domain w/additional dots in it?...
... that's my question.

www.i-am-a-cock-star.com is available!

you just register whatever domain name you want. then your web host would have to set up the additional names. at least, that's what I've seen with the hosts I've used.

you need which ever domain you want at the end blah.blah.thing.com you need to buy thing.com

You can only register second-level domains (one dot included!)... the rest you have to add at your host.

You cannot register a domain with periods in the middle.
you have to register rockstar.com and then setup on the server end the rest of the url.
