My company plans to give away an iPod mini via our email newsletter. They want me to use a picture of an iPod mini in an email promotion to our customers.
1. Is it cool to take an image off of Apple's website to show the mini?
2. Is it cool to take my own photo of the mini to use in this promotion?
My boss says were promoting the iPod and that there is no worry to be sued by Apple and it's 'no big deal'. I'm just always over careful about these things and wanted to get your opinions.

it's your own promotion, so there should be no worries.
However, I'm pretty sure whenever a logo is invloved or the name: Apple, then you have to have copyright, trademark info, etc. the best way to go would to be either
a) call your lawyer and have him research
or
b) call Apple's 800 number and find out
