ok, this may be a tough one..
imagine i have this script font ( http://www.dafont.com/en/caracte… ), and i make a text in illustrator (or freehand) and outline it. It will result in outlines on the edges of the lines, while i actually want it to be one outline (in the center, thus more line then filled shape), to make an animation in C4D following the spline..
is this in some way possible??
tia,

no, not really, because the original type suitcases do not contain a centerline for each letter. you could make guides out of them after you outline them and draw it yourself...but illustrator won't do it for you.

too bad..
i can't do it manually..
too much text (names) to process..
oh well..
anyone know of a possibility in Freehand, perhaps?
- stewart0
i'm sure you don't need a centerline for that animation.

I imagine you're talking about a 3D animation?
If so, as long as you have a linear path, you could import it and use a percentage morph to "draw it". Easy in MAX.
- DutchBoy0
i don't have Max.. :(
it's supposed to be a spline animation (following path of text) in Cinema 4D..
- GreedoLives0
you could try with offsetting the path a negative number...but the results will the uneven at best.
- DutchBoy0
tried that already, Greedo.. too tricky.
i have a double rail now (cuz of outlines) but it looks sweet the way i render the anim..)
(rendering test now.. will post in a minute..)
thx all!!

i reckon this is good enough to work with..:
