- Deluxehorror0
you don't need starbucks for coffee!
- ribit0
but you do need coffee to go!
(I had to leave Germany and go live in the UK just to get a decent coffee on the way to work)... Wiesbaden, city of 300,000 had one (1) place that served take away espresso-based coffee!!!
...but then thats a place where you have to go to the train station to buy bread on Sundays.

dooood.. you should know there's better coffee in milano than sbucks..
btw:
I can't stand them. Why do these a$$holes talk english to me when we are in germany??
- sexypixel0
starbucks is pish, burnt coffee. support your local cafe and give starbucks the big one.
Im off coffee 5 days now, and off smokes 2 weeks, hense my outburst
- tomkat0
but you are so-oo right, sexy..
- ribit0
but what they don't get in continental Europe is the need to get a good coffee and shove it in the cupholder and drive!!
(which also explains why European cars have such weensy cupholders..they can't find anything to put in there)
of course if you try drinking coffee and driving on the way to work at 200kmh on the German autobahns you are probably going to kill someone...

starbucks is shite, make yourself a good oldfashioned coffee

I think thats really a mentality thing. Europeans enjoy their coffee.
No plastic cups.
No to-go.
No cupholders.
- ribit0
But I don't like the fact that they ignore all the people that do want good coffee to go.
Germany is the worst... it's like a whole sector of the consumer economy that is being ignored... (a good opportunity for someone?)

and one of these:

...which was the only solution we had in Germany... but tends to spill over (no seal) on those high-speed bends coming off the autobahn...

On of the great things about australia is their love for coffee, and fine coffee it is too. So good in fact that starbucks here is always empty.

Starbucks is just plain bad coffee. I love good coffee, but I'll do without theirs (well, a latte is still good).
if you notice in Milan (or elsewhere in Italy), they tend to walk in, get an expresso, dump a few tablespoons of sugar in and down the hatch! See, no need for coffee to go!
But I agree, if you could just get it to go, that would be nice.
Ah, good memories :-)

thx ribit. you understand me. i love good coffe but i love very much cupholders too.
and what about free internet access while you drink a coffe?

Starbuck's Failed here in Israel and had to close down—we have many other afe chains (I work with one of them). Starbuck's have shitty coffe, but it's better than diner perculator coffe. When I lived in NYC, i would go to this Belgian place for my coffe.

Starbucks is insane!
Selling coffee and then not allowing people to smoke is just stupid. The Austrian Manager told me it's because the smoke would alter the taste of their precious coffee.... stupid prick also said that basically his goals are to destroy the Viennese coffee culture as we know it *lol*
The only people sitting in Starbucks here in Vienna are tourists.

And no-one mentioned ILLY yet??? And what is more, it's an Italian coffee! Even here in Ghent, Belgium we have an Illy-coffeeshop where you can have a coffee to go. I'm sure they have one or more in Milan too.
Illy is rather expensive, but if you like coffee a lot (like me) that shouldn't stop you from trying it. And be sure to try the Mocha (mix of coffee and chocolate milk, delicious)
