Any good sites for techniques in Indesign? I'm more from the web world, but I have been messing with print publishing for a minute and would like to read more about using Indesign. Our office is moving from Quark to Indesign and it would help if I knew a few things about it also. Thanks peeps.

*i mean this totally seriously*
i have really learned most everything from just methodically going through InDesign Help f1 utilities
very detailed, like with all the other Adobe Apps

I'd check for a InDesignUsersGroup in your city
http://www.indesignusergroup.com…
If Reno, of all places has one (which i recently joined even though i'm really comfortable with InDesign), then any other city in the US must.

Great link Mayo!
I don't see LA on the list -- or Reno...
Still, it seems like a good resource. Compared to Quark, InDesign is like a dream software...heheh

I got info about the group when i went to and Adobe CS seminar. The meetings are usually in the evening, so they feed you and have door prizes. I think last meeting, someone won an iPod. Apparently they give out door prizes regularly. The reno group is so small that I may have a shot at some Adobe swag :)
here are the current chapters

has anyone had trouble getting InDesign to recognize all the fonts that are installed in your system? (Panther, in my case)
How can I get it to sync up with Fontbook?

and how do you move the little palettes that cling to the right side of the monitor over to a second monitor?
- mayo0
e-wo - is there a copy of the fonts in the OSX Font folder in InDesign? I think that helps. yes? no? yes? no?
Rand - does dragging it over to the other monitor not work? Like when you can drag it to the left side of the monitor instead of the right?
- ********0
mayo, some of the palettes i can drag around, including to the other monitor- but the three "main" ones only slide up and down the right edge
- mayo0
what are the three main ones? i didn't know there were main ones. I think i've always picked which palettes went where (on my ONE monitor. some of us ain't spoiled like other little tarts :P ).
